1957 Fender Precision Bass 2-Tone Sunburst with Original Tweed Hardcase.

Up for sale, here’s an incredible vintage 2nd generation (Countered body) Precision Bass. This is a very rare to find piece due to be a transition era right before of the re launched Precision bass with split coil later same year.

This particular generation of Precision has all the features from he first 1951 P-Bass, with all the same features (split coil, Telecaster headstock, 1 ply white pickguard etc) with a countered body and raised A string pickup pole and 2 screws thumbrest. These years also serial number transitioned to the neck plate and as seen often in ’57 – ’58, randomly Fender used a negative number, yes.

Weighting at 8.2 lbs, which is very lightweight for a Precision Bass with Ash body.The Original 2-Tone Sunburst finish combined with the original 1-ply white pickguard and the pickup and bridge covers creates a stunning combination.

The neck is great, a massive all Maple neck with a stunning flame and the typical skunk stripe .I ts finish has the typical checking/patina, cigarettes and wear in the back throughout years of playing which makes it very smooth to play. It’s definitely a medium/chumnky neck profile (0.840″ Neck thickness at 1st fret and .950″ at 12th fret). Nut width is 1.72″. Frets appears to be original as they show moderate wear, allowing low action and playing throughout the whole fretboard evenly without any dead spots. The truss rod functioning both ways. It’s been professionally set and it sounds as incredible as you can expect and more.

The instrument comes with its original Tweed tolex case that is in Very Good condition for its age with all latches and handle in perfect working condition.
